IMAGINARIUM
Date: Spring Quarter (March - June 2020)
"Interiors represent an extension of the cultural framework, and when those frameworks change, so must the perceptions of the interior. Imposed confinement resulting in deep reflection within the domestic space offers a critical view of familiarity and the constraints of reality. What was once an everyday experience is now a rarity, and exists in the mind as food for the imagination, further fueling the desire for a return to a sense of normalcy. Quarantine hinders the ability to experience what is most desired in a daily routine, thus those experiences can only be recounted through memory. These memories are proliferated through imagination, which transfigure and exaggerate the interiors into enhanced versions of what they embody. The house becomes a receptacle for memory and hope of the inhabitants, physically transforming to satisfy figments of their imagination."
The underlying theme of this group project was Covid-19 and Quarantine. Each group member, due to the circumstances of quarantine, were forced to look inward into their own homes and 3D model a room of their choice. After each member modeled their own room, the models were merged together to form a "home" of sorts, and a new reality was created in reaction to the effects of quarantine. My particular room, as you will see in the video, is the sunroom, which illustrates the blurring of interior and exterior.  Moreover, my contribution to this project included my first attempt at Adobe Animate, with the 2D animations of the two characters.
Programs used: Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Animate
